The exhibition marks the 40th anniversary of the Għaqda Dilettanti Mudelli ta' Knejjes and is open to the public from 29th September to 9th October 2026.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Carmelo Abela inaugurated the “Imago Sagra" exhibition at the Parliament of Malta. The exhibition explores the papier-mâché traditions of Malta and Lecce and features a number of beautiful statues and church models.

Present at the inauguration were the President of the Għaqda Dilettanti Mudelli ta' Knejjes, Mr Vincent Galea, members of the Association, the Hon. Anthony Agius Decelis and the Hon. Justin Schembri.

The Speaker stressed that forty years of the Association's work reflect the sustained commitment of people who dedicate their time, skills and energy to a shared interest. “You bring the spirit of togetherness to life: you bring people together, unite them and give them joy through what they love," said the Speaker.

Speaker Abela called on the country and Parliament to continue supporting these talents and encouraging young people to learn the associated crafts, so that these traditions remain alive in our communities. He thanked the organisers, exhibitors and everyone who had contributed to the Association over its forty years, as well as Fr Michael Camilleri for blessing the exhibition.​

Mr Vincent Galea thanked the Speaker and Parliament for hosting the exhibition in the building of the country's highest institution. He encouraged the public to visit the exhibition from 29th September to 9th October 2026 and noted that it would also be open during Notte Bianca on Saturday, 3rd October 2026.
